Ancient China

With the help of archeologist Arizona Smith and the video that we watched in class, we were introduced to the fascinating study of ancient China.

We learned about Ying Zheng also known as the first emperor of China. Emperor Ch'in was born in 260 and died in 210 B.C. His reign as king started when he was only 13. His rule as emperor lasted for 15 years.

We also learned about music, art, food, architecture and medicine. It is amazing to think about how many important things that we still use today were invented in China. Which inventions surprised or interested you the most?

What learning can you share about ancient China or Emperor Ch'in?

What did you learn about the Bronze Age? The Great Wall? Fireworks?
What would you be interested in learning more about ancient China?
What did the video not tell you enough about that you need to explore further?

  3. Interesting, can you find out more about this superstition? Also, can you find anything else out about cats and dogs in different ancient cultures? AND what about those mummified cats in Egypt? What is up about that?

  4. I found out that the reason they built the Great Wall of China was because of a story: The north and south of China had many battles. But northern China weren't used to the weather in southern China so they would all die. It might look like an advantage but it's not. It's because southern china also weren't used to the weather in northern China. But one day they got the news that southern Chinawas coming and this time prepared. So they built the Great Wall of China
